Vinho Verde travels the world on board the Portuguese Navy training ship Sagres

Accepting a new challenge, the Vinho Verde now embarks on the "Sagres", a training ship that will take a trip around the world over the next 3 months.

The departure is on Saturday, May 30^th at 10:00 AM, Lisbon and is scheduled to return on August 23^rd. Hamilton (Bermuda), New York and Boston (USA), Halifax (Canada) and Belfast (United Kingdom) are the ports that will receive and enjoy the Vinho Verde.

The idea could not have been more welcomed by the CVR Vinhos Verdes, which is now able to see the Vinho Verde sail around the world. The aim of the initiative is once again taking the Vinho Verde beyond borders, bringing it to new audiences, and involve the consumer in the wine tasting and the increase of knowledge about this wine and its region. US, Canada and UK markets are three of the nine priority countries of Vinho Verde international markets.

During the stay in the maritime ports, the "Sagres" will be open to the public and are expected thousands of daily visitors. Apart from knowing one of the most beautiful yachts in the world and contact with about 200 crew members, visitors will have the possility of tasting several products of the national cuisine, as well as information material.

The training ship "Sagres" belongs to the class of large yachts and has as its mission the training of future sailor navy officers and represents Portugal all over the world.
