Brief Description
Low quality white grape variety, authorised in the Penafiel sub-region and in the areas around Porto. Highly productive, this grape variety produces unbalanced wines with a neutral aroma.
Synonymy:
or «Malvasia Fina», it is also known as «(Es) Padeiro Branco» in Lousada and as «Engana Rapazes» in Valongo; corresponding to the «Pera de Bode» of the Douro region and to the «Tália» or «Branquinha» in the Ribatejo region; of international expansion, it appears in France as the «Ugni-Blanc» or «Saint Émiiion», namely the «Muscadet» in Gironde; and in Italy as the «Trebiano Toscano», as well as in Corsica as the «Róssola».
